    I Dreamt Of

    These images are based on memories of dreams. Memories that seem so real but are just beyond our grasp or our ability of perfect recall.

    A friend of mine, Sabrina Chap, wrote ...

    I still have to write about the black crows coming
    out of my mouth on that cold night, how they shook me
    from myself and every time I screamed they broke the
    sky into pieces above me. Funny things happen when
    you scream.

    I was on a midnight walk, my first time away from the
    hospital hotel where all of the people’s mouths turned
    down into sad clowns and we all grasped our coffee
    cups a bit too tightly. I set out in the snow to
    crunch my way a new path and couldn’t shake my head.
    Things weren’t that bad, but they seemed horrible, and
    I couldn’t get out of my own mind. I turned corners
    just to turn them, not knowing where the streets would
    lead me. Deep in myself, I came upon a square lined
    with trees and white with snow. I walked and
    suddenly a great flapping of wings and movement, and
    above me were the crows. Thousands of them, scared
    from the tree that I had walked under. they covered
    the sky and made it seem patched with light from the
    moon’s tender glow. they flew to another tree, high
    and branchless, and that’s when I realized that every
    single tree in the square was full of black birds. No
    one was around, so I did what anyone would do who had
    been keeping it in. I screamed a black scream and a
    thousand crows flew from my mouth into the night.

    Precious Things

    I had this idea to make images of people with objects that were important to them in some way. Either things that they are fond of, or that remind them of something special, or that they are proud of or that is important to them for some other reason.

    I started bugging my friends and a couple agreed to do it.
